From iconic keynote speakers like Charlie Green, to product launches from NARS, the Makeup Show LA did not disappoint! Keep reading to see highlights and reviews of my favorite products from the show.
Products for the Skin
Color Me Foundation Applicator was one of the products I was most excited to try. This hygienic applicator produces 15,000 pulses per minute resulting in an airbrushed finish. There are two different sponges, one for powder and one for liquids or cream foundations. I love how it’s easy to use and clean, but most importantly the way it makes your skin look.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water is used as a super sheer primer before makeup, a setting spray to help keep makeup in place, and as a misting spray throughout the day to refresh skin. It’s definitely a triple threat!
Temptu Highlighter Makeup can be applied with fingertips, brush, or sponge. It goes on sheer, but is buildable and can be mixed with their blushes to customize your color. This highlighter leaves skin looking healthy, fresh, and dewy, just how I like it.
All About the Eyes
Senna Cosmetics Lash Detail Mascara is a 3D Micro Brush with a triangular-shaped bristle that paints even the tiniest of lashes with no clumping, adding length and fullness with just one coat. Sold!
Natasha Denona Blackest Black Eyeshadow Matte was another product I was excited to add to my kit. This shadow is a super intense, highly pigmented black color that will not fade at all. Use it to line and define your eyes or blend it out for a smokey-eye effect.
Cao Cosmetics Dual Lips Cheek comes in 6 beautiful shades. I love how this leaves a creamy, soft glow on the cheeks and doesn’t feel sticky on the lips. You can also use this product to create a glossy eye. Just apply with finger or brush to the lid.
Mustaev Eye Shadows are densely colored shadows and range from pearl to matte textures. Mustaev is a renowned Korean makeup brand that pride themselves with using the finest materials. When I felt the smooth texture of these shadows and saw the strong color payoff, I knew these would become a staple in my makeup kit.
For Your Lips
Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip is a 2-in-1 product designed to give the perfect pout. One end is a semi-matte lip color that provides full coverage and on the other end is a shimmer tip sponge to add a volume effect. Apply the lipstick color and add a touch of the shimmer to the center for fuller lips.
Kevyn Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Hyacinth is the perfect plum color and will work for everyone. I love how this pencil won’t dry out your lips, making it easy to wear on its own or under a lipstick.
Melanie Mills Hollywood Gleam Lip Radiance feels like silk on your lips! They glide on easily and won’t feather. The Lip Radiance is sort of a mix between a lipstick and a gloss, so you get the long-lasting power and pretty, glossy finish all in one. Melanie Mills gorgeous products never disappoint and always leave your skin radiant and glowing.
Shea Moisture Cosmetics Lip Crayons are ultra-moisturizing chunky pencils that stay on without drying your lips, thanks to Shea Butter. I’m a big fan of Shea Moisture’s hair products and was so happy to see this brand expanding with high quality cosmetics!
Looking forward to next year’s show! Stay tuned to my social media channels where I will be doing a giveaway with products from The Makeup Show LA later this week.
