I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lark Farnum over the last couple of years for weddings and also on one of my blog photo shoots. I love her attention to detail and her bright and cheerful arrangements. When she asked me to do her wedding makeup and hair, I was so excited! I knew this floral garden wedding was going to be gorgeous!
I first cleansed her skin with Simple Wipes. To hydrate under her eyes, I patted on Kinara eye cream. Next, I sprayed Smashbox Primer Water on to revitalize her skin. Then followed with Murad Hydro Dynamic Essence to keep her skin silky smooth! Glossier Lip Balm Dot Com was the last step in her skin prep.
Lark wanted her makeup to be very natural, letting her freckles shine through. To achieve that look, I evened out her skin with Algenist Reveal Primer, then lightly brushed on Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation. Next, I corrected any discoloration under her eyes with Becca Under Eye Brightener and followed with Nars Radiant Concealer.
For full brows, I used the dark brunette brow pencil from Kevyn Aucoin. I then patted Charlotte Tilbury’s Wonder Glow onto her cheekbones, forehead, and bridge of the nose for radiance. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso added a pop of color to her cheeks.
I blended Tartelette in Bloom Palette eyeshadows – Funny Girl on top of the lid, Flower Child on the browbone, Smarty Pants in the crease, and Activist in the outer crease to create a velvety smokey eye. For an ever so slight cat-eye, I lined her eyes with Tartiest Double Take Liner. I placed Picky Classic Lashes along her lash line to add fullness.
To complete her look, I filled in her lips with Nars Rikugien Lip Pencil then topped them with Charlotte Tilbury High Society Lipgloss, a lovely rose color.
Lark’s hair is naturally fine and soft, so to thicken her strands, I sprayed with Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray. While blow-drying her hair, I brushed it upwards to create volume. Then, I curled her hair into loose waves and set them with L’Oreal Elnett hairspray. We decided on a low, messy bun pinned right at the nape of her neck, with loose tendrils framing her face.
Delicate Mock Orange flowers were placed in her hair and added the sweetest touch to this floral garden wedding.
This floral garden wedding puts a smile on my face, and I hope on yours too! How will you do your wedding hair and makeup? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
